Reasons to Visit Cyprus in Summer 2017
8 Reasons to Visit Cyprus in 2017

Cyprus, the home of Aphrodite, the sister of Greece, the island that never stops giving. No matter what your age, whether a group of friends on your first vacation, perhaps a family seeking fun and adventures? Or a couple hoping for beauty and tranquility – Cyprus truly has everything to offer, and more. We've come up with EIGHT remarkable reasons why Cyprus should be at the top of your bucket list for Summer 2017.

Breathtaking beaches

Nissi Beach situated in the vibrant city of Ayia Napa was actually voted No.1 by TripAdvisor, out of the 25 of the best beaches in Europe. Closely following in at No.3 was the stunning white sanded Fig Tree bay, which you can find in the popular tourist of Protaras. Both beaches stretch for over 500m, allowing a serene scenery for some visitors, and a livelier spot with music and a huge selection of water sports for the partygoers. The beaches are not only to be admired in the day time – at night you'll be spoilt for choice with tavernas by the sea, serving some of the finest Cypriot seafood whilst you listen to the waves and embrace the breathtaking views.

The friendly Greek residents

Warm hospitality is rooted in the Greek way of living. You may think they're shouting at you or arguing with each other but that really is just the way they speak! The way that Greeks treat their guests, will instantly make you feel more than welcome and completely at home during your trip to any part of Cyprus.

5th safest country in the WORLD

In 2016, according to a survey, Cyprus was ranked one of the safest places to live, in the world! There is always a general feeling of safety on this island, with a massive sense of community flowing through each beautiful city.. With low crime rate being yet another impressive selling point, it is no wonder Cyprus is now made up of thousands of ex British residents. This study was calculated based on population, CO2 emissions and life expectancy, traffic deaths and crime rate. Very good to know!

Some of the best partying, EVER

Where do we start…? Cyprus is known for being home to one of the world’s most popular party resorts, Ayia Napa! Whether it is day time or night time this city never sleeps. Hosting the biggest beach party in Europe (Kandi) and different boat parties each week, they never fail to put on a massive show each summer with a huge list of celebrities amongst their visitors as well as performers. But in recent years each cities night life has had a massive re-vamp, becoming just as popular with both tourists and local residents. Paphos' known area being "Bar Street" and Limassol's famous "Old Town" area with music buzzing through the open-roof bars. For a calmer vibe, the "Finikoudes" in Larnaca is a brilliant spot for local restaurants and bars.

The Ancient History and Culture

From Neolithic villages to Roman ruins and medieval castles, the historic sites in Cyprus illustrate the depth and diversity of the history of this pretty island. Having been inhabited by the ancient Greeks, Persians and Romans to name just a few, you can hardly be surprised at how many historical places there are to see throughout the cities, and why they are yet another astonishing attraction Cyprus holds.

Two of the Highest Rated Waterparks

Water parks are great fun for all ages, and WaterWorld in Ayia Napa was once voted the BEST in Europe. Now sitting at a respectable No.2, WaterWorld is an award-winning Greek themed waterpark and one of Cyprus' top attractions.  Entry tickets are priced at 38 Euros for adults and 24 Euros for children, you can spend all day here enjoying a huge variety of thrill seeking rides, relaxing lazy rivers and a huge selection of on-site restaurants. If you've chosen to visit Limassol, Fassouri WaterPark is just as exciting! It was ranked an impressive No.10 and has an average entrance fee of around 29 Euros.

Not all sunshine – stunning mountain resorts!

Most of us know Cyprus as the hot and dreamy summer vacation – but would you actually believe it can also be your newest skiing resort?! Snowfall begins in December and will last until around March up in the Troodos Mountains! Skiing lessons and snowboarding are offered during your stay in their beautiful winter huts. Also if you're a history fan there are tonnes of old churches, ancient monuments and monasteries to visit upon your stay.
